Icarus the winged figure

:-p I only call him Icarus because he is too young to be called Daedalus, no honestly I guess like the plant-daphnies I have no choice but to call them Icari or Daedali since that is the first thing that comes to mind since they are not angels but winged men (and women).  Anyhoot, here is the latest and loveliest, made here and with lots of love, I tell you wings please my inner being and make me really happy to behold so enjoy!

a few photos of the winged woman siren lady

The Siren - progress photos

Here are some photos of the Siren as she came along,
below she was a standing figure, arms stretched upward.

I then decided to put her arms down, she is to be a seated siren.

There she was with the figure from last time.
Now I have created excitement by adding the feathers to her arms.
I have always enjoyed winged figures, expect to see more of the same.

The First one born out of NYC

Yes I know they originated in NY, but I have been back for about a month and this is the first one to emerge.

And now we are cohesive, who needs babelfish!!!!?!?!?!

The "I dont need babelfish" universe

Its funny after all of these years I still use microsoft paint.  I remember screwing around with it in the 90s on Julies computer, one time we went to Sentara (how the f*ck did mom pull that off?) at Julies job and I think I was using it since when I knew her she didnt have a computer.  Anyway, today, on a train from Boston to New York City, I made the I dont need babelfish universe on paint, aka paint program.

Cardboard wings

Im very excited for the next project, it will involve making life-size bird wings out of cardboard, the fun part is that they will be functional, well... not that I will be able to fly with them but they will be able to move mechanically, to open and shut.  Stay tuned, after they are spray painted, a photoshoot will follow with likely some edited images posted here at the blog.  The photos will be used to make small figures.  The current little bird men people will be more human than bird, with the mechanical wings added onto them.  So no super elongated arms and the way the wing opens will correspond to the model wings as well as the shape (flat knives) not just as twisted tassles on the arms.

thanks sunnybrook1!
